Club Mastership (KM 2024) is upcoming so you may start to review your photos from 2024 to select your contribution. More information with dates and rules will be given at the above club meeting. Briefly we compete in 3 different sections as usual: colour, black and white and collection. Stay tuned for more details!

PHOTOGRAFER ÅKE ERIKSSON
Born in Västerås, Sweden. He had his first picture published when he 14 years old and started working as a photographer at the age of 16. After 12 years at various local newspapers in Sweden, he worked at Scandinavia’s largest newspaper, Aftonbladet, where he worked for 10 years. Since 2000 he has been working as a freelance photojournalist. He has been working and travelling in many countries such as Russia, The Balkans, the Czech Republic, France, Slovakia and especially in the Kosovo region. He is affiliated with Redux Pictures in New York and his photography has been published in Time, CNN, The New Yorker, Paris Match, Le Figaro, Stern, Telerama and Le Monde.

On Thursday 13 of June, we will run the annual Mini photo marathon, a small, relaxed competition including four (4) defined themes to be covered.
The meeting point is at Djurgårdskyrkan (close to Gröna Lund) at 17:00 P.M.
The competition area is Djurgårdsstaden including Beckholmen. Participants will get a map over the area that can be covered in the competition.

We plan to close at 20:30 at latest, but participants can continue or be ready outside this time limit of course.

Rules:
Each theme is to be represented by ONE (1) single photograph; this means that you can submit four (4) photographs in total. However, you can also choose to pick ONE of the four themes as a collection and submit 3 – 5 photographs of that selected theme as a collection. In this case you can participate with up to 8 (3 + 5) photographs.

The photographs must be in JPG format and not be bigger in size than 2 MB.

The photographs should be submitted by mail to utstallning@erik.se not later than one week after the competition date.

The outcome will be presented after the summer leave in one of the club´s meetings.

Welcome to next Tuesday’s club meeting, it will be the last club meeting before the summer break. But before the break we will also run the annual Mini marathon as usual. More info follows below.

THE ANNUAL MINI MARATHON is the yearly relaxed photo competition. We select a limited geographic area and 4 themes. This year the area is Djurgårsdsstaden including Beckholmen.
Each theme is to be represented by one (1) picture, one of the themes can alternatively be represented by a Collection of 3- 5 pictures.
The date for the Mini mara is June 13, and the meeting spot is by Djurgårdskyrkan that is situated close to Gröna Lund. Participants shall be at the meeting point at latest at 17:00. The themes and a site map will be handed out at the meeting point.

Välkomna hälsar styrelsen

Vi vill önska alla medlemmar en god jul till att börja med! Styrelsen planerar nu för 2024 och har satt några datum som ni kan se lite längre ned.

Vid vårt klubbmöte den 28 november fick vi besök av Sundbybergs Fotoklubb som var där i egenskap av jury för klubbens Minimaraton 2023. Våra gäster gjorde en gedigen redovisning och motivering av resultatet. Vinnare av respektive kategori får ett presentkort från Scandinavian Photo som delas ut till nästa klubbmöte den 23 januari 2024.
